Mudgeeraba, QLD Project Description: As part of the Federal Gov $42 billion stimulus and BER (Building Education Revolution) program, Somerset College has secured $3 million dollars worth of funding to add 9 classrooms to it’s already impressive school campus.Two buildings are proposed, a double storey Years 1 & 2 building comprising 6 x 85 sq m classrooms and a single level Prep School with covered outdoor play area. The buildings have been sited on a high profile portion of the school grounds so extra attention was given to façade treatments to make a suitable initial impression yet marrying in with other buildings design vocabulary. Each classroom will have state of the art data and communications systems, energy efficient lighting, ducted air conditioning, and ceiling fans with cross ventilation requirements incorporated. |
