Project: Universal Cranes Headquarters, Murrarie Project Description: This project involved site rehabilitation and redevelopment of a 1.6 hectare site in Murarrie for a large Heavy Marine Construction company, including the restoration and refurbishment of a derelict 1930's office building, previously part of the Bulimba power station.The project further included the master planning of the site based on the client's complex needs and work processes, the mapping and structural rehabilitation of the network of underground cabling tunnels now tidally flooded and the complete interior and exterior repair, re-organization and re-reticulation of the Admin building and historic on-site fire station that was annexed to the now demolished turbine hall of the power station. New large scale workshops, an AQIS certified wash bay and piled jetty into Aquarium passage for direct Brisbane River access was included. The initial stages of construction, totalling approximately $2 million, commenced late 2005 and the total project cost is estimated at $12 million. |
