Project: Ivory, Burleigh Heads

Project Description:

Situated on one of the few remaining Esplanade lots, Ivory on Burleigh Beach, represents an exemplary piece of contemporary architecture aimed specifically at the sophisticated owner - occupier market.

This ten storey tower has a sleek, linear and contemporary form. Each street facade sits parallel with its respective corner boundary and has significant architectural articulation by way of diverse fenestration treatment and the complementary use of diverse building materials, (stone, concrete, glass and metallic surfaces).

The northern facade has been spliced and truncated to provide the rear units with views over the beach to the north-east, while the western facade contains limited fenestration treatment, (with sun shading) and blank walls in off-set plans to reduce the sun and visual bulk impact.

Strong horizontal and vertical elements combine to present a building sensitive to the urban environment and human scale. Both state of the art and natural materials have been utilized to afford diversity in colour, lustre and texture in a building form designed to sustain interest. Glazing elements while providing articulation and scale to the building also provide sight lines to views, natural light and ventilation to internal spaces.

The building form is orientated to the east and north-east, to maximize views to the beach and parkland.
