TAB lifts
Tab Lift Car Refurbishment
Brief:
The Client wanted to refurbish the interior lift cars. We had
just completed the design of both Ground & First Floor Lobby’s and
about to commence refurbishment of Levels 1 – 8. The lift
interior was to tie in with all levels and had to comply with new
disabled access codes in the BCA.
Location:
240 Sandgate Rd, Albion, Queensland
Ambition:
- To communicate clearly to the client and see for ourselves how the design would look from inside and outside the lift.
- To get full satisfaction from the client before proceeding with the working drawings.
- To portray the level of quality we wanted to achieve to the contractors.
Solution:
- To computer generate digital 3d perspectives of our design to give a clear visual understanding to the client and consultants.
- To convert the perspectives into 3d working drawings so that both
sets of documents could be easily translated and assist in accurate
tender prices.
Outcome:
When the project went out for tender, builders were able to accurately
price from both a visual and documentation point of view. The
communication between trades, client, designer & builder was more
precise and less ambiguous. The project is yet to go under
construction and it will be interesting to see the outcome and how this
type of documentation can assist in future projects.
